Injection Molded Pet Treats and Toys Designed to Your Specifications

Injection Molding is very repeatable. That is, the second, hundredth, and thousandth part you produce is going to be virtually identical to the first one, etc. This is a wonderful characteristic when trying to produce Brand consistency and part reliability in high volume production.

Design is a very important part of the injection molding process. Injection Molding allows the customer to design a specific, exclusive product with a unique shape and to include their logo or brand identity. If you are going to produce parts in high volumes, you want to make sure you get the design right the first time. Our Innovation Team will design and then prototype the part to your specification.

    • Initial prototype development is typically completed with Stereo lithography or SLA on a 3D printer using plastics such as ABS or PLA.

 

    • In the next design phase, a prototype, injection mold tool is developed for an initial development round that ensures you are getting exactly what you have designed. This is where weight, color, texture and all aesthetics are honed to your satisfaction.

 

  • Refining all details in the prototype injection mold tool prior to mass-production is the key to a successful launch and this is all done at our manufacturing plant. This is what sets us apart/above our competition when it comes to designing for you, your business, and your brand.

 

The Injection Molding Process

Injection Molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts (or, in our case Treats, Toys, and Plastic products) in large volume. It is most typically used in mass-production processes where the same part is being created thousands or even millions of times in succession.

The principal advantage of injection molding is the ability to scale production with consistent quality. In the case of pet treats, it allows our customers to add functionality to their products. The options are plentiful, such as, oral health, joint health, skin, and coat health. We can also add visible inclusions, such as, carrots, parsley, flax seed, and just about anything you can imagine. Once the initial costs of tooling have been paid, the price per unit during injection molded manufacturing is extremely low. The price per part also tends to drop drastically as more volume benefits are realized.

Using Targeted Pets Treats’ “proprietary process” creates a couple of distinct opportunities. Two major distinctions include processing profile and precision.

Our process uniquely keeps ingredients from being exposed to the normal high temperatures of other processes. This is important as high processing temperatures tend to erode their efficacy. In our process, pressure plays an important role in the sterilization process. The result are safe and nutritious products first time every time.

Precision is another key benefit of our process. Repeatability in piece weight a hallmark of the process. This is particularly important when a specific amount of an active ingredient is desired in each piece. The process is perfect for creating products that offer an array of additional benefits and special needs treats. Further, the process is perfect for introducing visible inclusions that carry through to the final product.
